The Dr. Mwele Malecela Memorial (MMM) Award for Health Researchers highlights DICOTA’s dedication to fostering health innovation and celebrating Tanzanian excellence. In partnership with the Tanzania Health Summit, DICOTA hosted the MMM Award as part of the 2022 and 2024 HealthCare Awards during the Annual Tanzania Health Summit. This distinguished award honors emerging health researchers specializing in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).

In 2024, Dr. Vivian P. Mushi was recognized as the award recipient, succeeding the inaugural winner, Dr. Anange Fred Lwilla, who received the honor in 2022. By raising funds to commemorate the late Dr. Mwele Malecela’s impactful legacy, DICOTA continues to support Tanzanian scholars and contribute to the global fight against NTDs. This initiative underscores DICOTA’s enduring commitment to advancing health research and empowering the next generation of Tanzanian health innovators.
